Myk Brown to Transfer Out

Submitted by on November 14, 2008 – 9:22 AMNo Comment

RICHMOND, Va. – Forward Myk Brown has decided to leave the Virginia Commonwealth University men’s basketball program and transfer at the end of the semester to a to-be-determined school to finish his collegiate career.  He’ll have three years eligibility remaining.

“Myk is an outstanding young man and he’s been a pleasure to coach and have in our program.  I understand and respect his decision and wish him nothing but the best in the future,” VCU head coach Anthony Grant said.

The 6-4 Brown, from Gainesville, Fla., averaged 0.9 points and 0.7 rebounds in 15 games as a freshman.

“I have the utmost respect for Coach Grant and I’m very appreciative of the opportunity I’ve had here,” Brown said.  “I just think it is in my best interests to finish my career at a place where I will be able to make more contributions on the court.   I will always be a big fan of Coach Grant, all the guys here and VCU basketball.”
