Lance Kearse Leaves VCU

We have recently learned that Lance Kearse is leaving the Rams. We were initially prompted by a status update on his Facebook account:

In an interview with the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Kearse stated:

“Basically, Coach Grant and I are going our separate ways,” he said, referring to Rams coach Anthony Grant. “There were a couple of issues, but I really can’t talk about it right now.”

He indicates that the issues didn’t have too much to do with his health conditions over the past few months.

Kearse’s departure adds to an increasing list of roster issues:

  • Franck Ndongo – out for the season on injury.
  • T.J. Gwynn – out until at least February on foot injury.
  • Myk Brown – transferred out of VCU for more playing time.

We hate to see Kearse leave, but great to have him on the team for his short tenure. We wish him the best of luck moving forward.
