RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University senior Eric Maynor (Raeford, N.C.) collected his second Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week Award, the league announced Monday. Maynor shares the honor with Drexel’s Leon Spencer.

Maynor averaged 20.5 points, 9.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds as he led the Rams to victories over Towson and Old Dominion. Behind Maynor, who leads the CAA in both scoring (21.8 ppg) and assists (6.2 apg), VCU has won five straight to improve to 13-5 overall and 6-1 in conference play.

Maynor scored 27 points and handed out nine assists during the Rams’ 78-71 triumph at Towson Jan. 14. He followed that performance with a 14-point, nine assist effort in a 61-44 defeat of Old Dominion in front of a sellout Siegel Center crowd.

A 6-3 guard, Maynor is eight assists shy of the VCU career mark, held by Edmund Sherod.

Maynor and the Rams return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 21 when they travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia State at the Georgia State Sports Arena at 7 p.m.
