VCU WILL MEET NEVADA IN TELEVISED BRACKETBUSTERS MATCH-UP

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University will meet Nevada in a televised ESPNU BracketBusters match-up on Friday, Feb. 20 in Reno, Nev. the network announced Tuesday.

VCU (16-6) was one of five Colonial Athletic Association teams selected for the 13 televised BracketBusters games, the most of any of the 17 participating conferences. ESPN will announce game times and networks for the 13 televised contests on Monday, Feb. 9. Six games will air on ESPNU, five on ESPN2, one on ESPN and one on ESPN360.com. It will be the fourth consecutive season the Rams have earned a televised BracketBusters contest.

It will be the first meeting between the Rams and Wolfpack (13-8).

Nevada is the five-time defending Western Athletic Conference regular season champion and currently sits in second place in the league with a 6-2 mark. The Wolfpack have reached the NCAA Tournament in four out of the last five seasons.

Nevada is led by 6-9 freshman forward Luke Babbitt, who is averaging 16.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, as well as 6-3 sophomore guard Armon Johnson and his 14.5 points per game.

VCU has participated in the last four BracketBusters. The Rams captured a 57-52 road victory over Akron last season. The Rams are 2-2 overall in the event.
