6′9 Center Damontre Harris has narrowed his list to 5 teams: Florida, Maryland, South Carolina, Wake Forest..and yours truly, VCU. Out are Auburn, Boston College, Georgia, and Xavier (to name a few).

Harris’ stock has shot through the roof (#8 Center @ Scout.com for the class of ‘10) after a productive year and a great showing at Dave Telep’s (past Ram Nation guest) Carolina Challenge. Damontre would be a welcome addition to the Rams who may lose their first ever underclassman to an NBA Draft (Larry Sanders currently #14 in NBADraft.net 2010 Mock Draft).

VCU has had great success with talent out of Fayetteville, NC (see: Maynor, Eric), and adding Damontre to that list would be a great get for the Rams, Coach Smart and his staff, and the CAA.
