Shaka Smart and staff have landed another 2010 stud in 6′7 small forward Reco McCarter. McCarter has been described as a smooth and athletic lefty, with the ability to run the floor and lock down on defense. Take a look for yourself…
McCarter comes to VCU via Goldsboro, NC and chose VCU over the likes of Wake Forest, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Charlotte, and Boston College. He becomes the second 2010 recruit alongside 6′2 guard Rob Brandenburg.

Love this pickup! He’s definitely one of the top recruits in the conference this year. The guy has size at 6′7, but handles and shoots like a guard. He’ll be a beast of a mismatch playing the 3! Great get for Shaka and the coaching staff! Go Rams!

Coached this kid in Middle School….. Look out VCU!! This kid hasnt even begun to Tap his potential!!! The video just highlights his shooting but he is also VERY athletic and Can jump outta the GYM!!!!
