Video: CBI Finals, Game 1

The Rams were able to grab game 1 (68-56) of a best of three series against the Billikens of St. Louis, coached by Rick Majerus. The Rams came out gunning and Junior, Larry Sanders had VCU’s first 8 points of the game after an aggressive start. In the 2nd half the Rams were led by 14 straight points by Joey Rodriguez.

The Rams pressure defense forced 16 St. Louis turnovers and also dominated St. Louis on the glass which allowed for 16 seconds chance points compared to the Billikens 4.

This game marked the last home game of the season for the Rams and the final home game for seniors, Kirill Pischalnikov and T.J. Gwynn. The Rams head to St. Louis to polish off their season and the CBI Finals Wednesday and Friday (if necessary).
