If Shaka Smart was a sandwich…

If Shaka Smart was a sandwich, what would he be?

I suppose that’s a question for a future Ram Nation interview, but in the meantime, hungry fans looking for a taste of VCU greats Jamie Skeen, Joey Rodriguez, Ed Nixon, Brandon Rozzell…and most recently, Bradford Burgess, need look no further than my favorite Fan sandwich spot, Garnett’s cafe.

The Garnett’s chefs have created five Ram-inspired special sandwiches, named after the former VCU greats jersey numbers.

Garnett’s owner Kendra Feather is a huge Ram fan as well as owner of other RVA favs Ipanema cafe on W. Grace street and her newest addition, The Roosevelt, located in Church Hill on N 25th.

(For my money I’d go with J-Rod’s “#12″, but also recommend the Croque Garnett or Louisville Hot Brown once you’ve eaten the entire VCU roster).

The “#20″ – Bacon, ham, lettuce, tomato, benedictine spread and tiger sauce on a ciabatta roll

The “#12″ – Turkey, bacon, swiss, pickled jalapeno, caramelized onion and mayo on toasted Italian bread

The “#50″ – Grilled bacon, gouda, caramelized onion and tomato on rye bread

The “#32″ – Ham, swiss, coleslaw and sciracha mayo on a ciabatta roll

The “#21″ – Grilled roast beef, cheddar, pickled mushrooms, red onions and garlic aioli on wheat bread
