In the season opener for VCU Ram Nation we sit down with former VCU guard, Julian Capel. We talk a bit about his family-ties to coaching, what he’s been up to, and who he has his money on when OU comes to town this weekend.
We also spend a little time discussing the up-and-down nature of this first week of VCU basketball; the win at home against Bethune-Cookman and the loss on the road to Western Michigan. All leading up to our showdown this Saturday, Nov. 21st, when the #17 Oklahoma Sooners trot into town.
Deron Williams returned for the Jazz after a two game absence, but that didn’t stop Eric Maynor from taking full advantage of his minutes in a 104-91 win over the Toronto Raptors.
Ex VCU Head Coach Anthony Grant dropped his home opener to Ivy League Cornell University, 71-67. Cornell returned all 5 starters from last year’s NCAA Tournament team, and lead by as many as 15 points. Cornell was a 6 point underdog going into this game.
Here we are Rams and Ewe’s, the season is officially starting!! We are gonna get you some live updates of the game right here in this post! Just like last season we are going to bring you some pictures during the game, live! However, this year we plan on introducing some short video clips as well.. how hot is that?!? Is tonight a good night or what? On the same night the black and gold kicks off the season, one of our favorite sons…Eric Maynor, will get the start just 9 games into the season against the Philadelphia 76ers.
