This would mark a change in course, correct? Last I heard they were going after a big man to fill the other 2013 scholarship. Top 100 players are not available to VCU all that often, though, so I can see why they might change their plans. Another shooter could help a lot next year.
Wait, this kid is eligible to play in 2012. Do we even have a space for him this season? I doubt he wants to sit a year.
It does seem odd to not go after a big man, but DB's recruiting sources have always been solid. Johnson's high school coach says VCU is also in the mix, we're going against SMU, USF and Villanova.
For some reason, I don't believe we are recruiting by position anymore but looking for the "best player available" who fits within our system.
We are recruiting by position. We have 2 scholarships to fill one will go to a sniper and the other will go to a big man.
How do we have two left? We had 3 scholarships available. One went to Jequan (he takes Brad's scholarship) and the other went to Jarius (he takes Reco's scholarship). Which would mean we have one left which would take Heath's scholarship....unless someone is leaving?
