More of this "us vs. them" mentality. These boards were never as blatantly defensive as they have been since the A-Ten speculation and subsequent move. I felt I could speak my mind about things without having people come at my throat for having opinions that were counter to what the "general consensus" was. Now it's like I can't utter any sort of opinion of opposition without having a bunch of personal attacks thrown my way.

I have done nothing wrong here. I haven't been a troll and I haven't taken any personal attacks at anyone. I've followed the rules of these boards since the day I arrived. If you disagree with what I have to say, then fine. Go ahead and disagree with it. That's the point of a message board. But leave the personal insults out of it. It makes me ashamed to be a part of a board where Ram fans attack other Ram fans just because they don't like what is being said, and then turn around and try to show an air of "class" to our new conference-mates.

Apathetic students glued to their cell phones + an old man rolling around on top of them = disaster and bad press.

If anything, I'll compose an articulate email and send it to the producers of the show College Gameday instead of the talking heads who only get paid to recite ESPN's talking points. Sometimes it's not what's being said, it's how it's being said, and who is reading it. I think that has a better chance of swaying minds than posts to a facebook wall or twitter feed.

Nobody could have forecast that the Pac-12 would be as atrocious as it was last season. Both Arizona and Washington were top-25 teams heading into the season. And anything that features Kentucky will draw viewers.

Hmm, I would think that the Butler game would be the only one of our home conference games that would come close to being attractive enough for them then. It is a long shot, but I love that we are making the effort. I am sure it will depend as much on who else is playing that day as our actual merits and efforts.

That's all good stuff and every little bit helps.

I just think you misunderstand the purpose of a social media campaign. It's not necessarily to have a conversation with these guys. I'm not necessarily expecting Dick Vitale to respond to a specific message. It's to grab attention, get on their minds and to show that the campus and fan base is behind something like this. If the producers of the show have reason to believe that the Siegel Center would be jacked up for Gameday and would look great on TV, they're more likely to consider it.
