    While I understand the "old school" argument, it's not acceptable.
    In 2009, college basketball history was replete with examples of college players who died of cardiac arrest in practice and VCU has one of the best hospitals
    The fact that Coach Grant, his coaching staff, the trainers initially polished off Kearse's pleas for help, explained it away as "mental problems and didn't give him the medical attention is deplorable!

    If I had been Kearse's parent and he died from this, I would have sued the university!

    Yeah, but this could also be applied to a variety of situations and not limited to players. We often don't have a clue what's really going on with a lot of aspects of the basketball team.

    Kind of a catch 22, if we only commented on things we absolutely had direct knowledge of, how many posts would we have on this message board, ten?

    We'd don't need direct knowledge, we just have to be respectful in our opinions of the player if we don't know what's going on. Remember, VCU athletes are not just athlete's,they all someone's son or daughter.
