Here they are. We need to do this for a game. Lay the shirts out on seats beforehand. have the ushers keeping an eye out to make sure they don't walk away. or just leave gold shirts on the "lettered" seats on the blackout night, and leave black shirts on the lettered seats on the goldout night.
Fresh-a-man, Fresh-a-man, 6 ft 10 made of radiation, opponents beware, opponents beware, they're coming, they're coming, they're coming.
My wife and I went to the Ram Spirit Walk and helped hand out VCU sunglasses. It was a lot of fun. The Peppas, about half, led them. The last block of Laurel leading into Monroe Park had lots of folks that cheered with the Peppas but also cheered the freshman class as they walked by. The freshman looked very surprised (okay maybe dazed and confused) but seemed to appreciate it. I think they got a sense that Spirit is BigTime at VCU. In Monroe Park, they fed them hot dogs, hamburgers, pork and beans...so they got a free t shirt, sunglasses and a meal where they didn't have to use a punch. We shook hands with Jordan Burgess and Mo Alie Cox. Nice young men. I am 5'10"; I have broad hands but not long fingers; nevertheless, I can palm a basketball with either hand...this isn't about me. When I shook hands with Mo Alie Cox, my hand was lost in his hand...maybe, maybe half the size of his hand. It was...no words to describe...unbelievable doesn't touch it.
Huh. Never thought I'd find myself sitting here all excited about one man's description of another man's hands.
I think this was done at an NBA game last year. There were like tow or three fans not doing it and the commentator pointed out that they were family of the visiting team. Since season ticket holders normally have both black and gold shirts, you just remind the fans in the lettered seats of which color they need to wear...and have some backups. The fans around should pressure any who seems to not get it to get on board or be scorned. I alos feel that the ramnation student section should be black or gold ONLY with no exceptions. If you want to sit with your friends or family in that section, buy or bring the right color. NO EXCEPTIONS. If students want to get in to the game, they should step up to the challenge and wear VCU gear, or no free admission. I'm not sure, but the big programs must do something like this because I NEVER see anyone without the chosen color in their student sections. And season ticket holders should show that pride too, but I'm aware of the executive types who are in suits.
There's really few things more popular on this board than student section fascism. I can see the color gestapo running around the Stu now picking out the feeble minded who dare enter without acceptable apparel. Yeesh, most freshman are doing laundry for the first time in their lives. I think we should just give them credit for waking up in time for games.
