There was talk that Richardson had quit and had returned/would be returning to ODU a couple days prior to Greenberg's firing.
some were even saying that the high turn-over of assistants under Greenberg was what motivated Weaver to swing the axe, and that Richardson's departure was the last straw
Is it possible that Greenberg was just using the "Fire An Assistant" strategy that someone on here suggested a couple of years ago to boost his program.
whichever was more recent I would guess (perhaps Johnson provided most of the tension, but then Richardson provided just that little bit more?)
I like how I had to click an extra button to "like" VRams post....ya know, 'cause of the awful profanity and whatnot
Looking over Tech Sideline and their pages of Shaka possibly going to Tech. One poster "the silence is deafening" and other posts of "I find it curious that he hasn't stated that he isn't interested in the job to a reporter". These guys are fairly delusional, but I can't fault them for dreaming.
Their delusions of grandeur and the troll posting as "vcuinsider" who's goading them on are making for some very entertaining reading. And by the way, besides being thankful that our basketball program kicks Tech's ass (and with less money to boot), can we all take a moment to appreciate how nice these forums are in comparison to the absolutely terrible Tech forums? Truly awful to read.
Thought I'd post this here since once again another school thinks they can get Shaka. It's another "wow the mid-major coaches are staying" article from ESPN. Pretty well written though. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bas...opportunities-stay-put-men-college-basketball
Hokies should look in the direction of the Murray State head coach. The last head coach they hired from Murray State is still in Blacksburg 25 years later.
