Lenn Robbins @LennRobbins CAA sending emails to members saying no addition of Mason and VCU...administrators in A-10 and other East conferences say it's a go
I think what has happened is someone has leaked the news and the others are keeping their word not to spill the beans-I bet there are conference calls buzzing as we read-will get an answer within days. Do you think D-Duck was really working for Yeager?
I still will miss the CAA and I'm not too keen on the A10 as of today. My opinion will have to change eventually. I just know I'll miss the CAA
it's going to happen, we just won't know for sure until VCU confirms it one day(within a few weeks?). won't be sad at all because we are moving to bigger and better things!
Well....best part of this story is there's an actual date. So on May 1st, we'll know how true this latest report is. Wouldn't be surprised if that leak doesn't let us know even sooner.
My guess is this leak had something to do with the VA General Assembly finally getting a budget out. We took a big hit last year and I'm sure Rao et al were waiting to see what our fiscal situation as a whole would look like for 2013 before taking the plunge.
You say that like it's a bad thing. Two birds with one stone! Three cheers for what hopefully turns out to be a judo move by Shaka, Norwood and Rao.
For people that realize there are other sports than basketball, yes, it is bad news. Is this an all-sports move I'm assuming?
It will be real interesting to see if Yeager or Norwood go on the offensive with the denials, by going on Greg Burton's show or other media outlets this afternoon. I bet they don't, which makes it more likely that this thing is a done deal. It will just be some "read between the lines" statement that gets circulated.
Ha, CBS6 did a nice job of reporting the official statement by VCU officials, but then including the following caveat: http://wtvr.com/2012/04/20/vcu-denies-report-of-move-to-a-10-conference/
