I think some Ram fans may have a more unfavorable view towards Sanders than they should. We were spoiled by Maynor, who is as much of a basketball player as anyone can be. He was pure and consistent in the game so even when we lost he put up numbers. Sanders was an athlete making the transition to basketball player so when he was placed in the center of attention without Eric the team seemed to rise and fall with him.

If he played well we'd probably win and it'd be "why can't he have this effort every night?" and when we lost and his numbers were underwhelming it was "why isn't he trying" when at least part of it had to be, he simply was the player he was. Someone still learning who was bound to be inconsistent. We were so focused on the player he COULD be and looking very much like he one day will be, that we didn't fully accept that he wasn't near as finished of a product as Eric.

That said, he is looking like he's going to be VERY exciting to see develop even further and looking like he made the right personal decision to leave college early.

if he had been more consistant for us he wouldn't have been playing for us..he would have been at another school...it is the beauty of recruiting a kid below the radar...these 2 or 3 rated players that buck the odds...it is why we root for someone like LS8 Go Larry....remember where you came from and remember why you are there...focus

Larry wasn't under the radar he needed too much work to go to a big time program. Those coaches don't have the luxury of time so they cant afford to bring on alot of projects.

I think we are saying the same thing....under the radar = not having the luxury of developing a raw but potentially freaskish physicality .... maybe the mid major coaches have the extra luxury of gambling on such projects...if it fails then darn our 6'11" just didnt make it...ask GMU...lol

the bucks fan absolutely LOVE larry (at least from the comments on their forums). Comparing him to KG (maybe a little early for that one...), and excited to see him play with brandon jennings. I'm glad the bucks fans love him so much. Should be a great year for Larry.

Most all are impressed with Larry...except odu fans, but based on their basketball knowledge that should come as no surprise...

I can't even look at those rankings without laughing. Proud for Larry, but someone at SI.com has their head on sideways.
Play for the name on the front of the jersey, not the back.

I took it more of a list, rather than a ranking. Because half of the players in front of larry they talk so negatively about. Like evan turner played terrible and he is at 2?

Last night on the NBA Channel's Game Time one of their commentators listed Larry as third most impressive rookie. :D

Yea, they're listed in order they were drafted.

Those look like the old school converse Larry Bird used to rock. NICE! Back in the day when Magic used to wear the L.A. Gear. Good choice Larry!

In his five games in Las Vegas, Sanders averaged 3.2 blocks per game (5 against the Miami Heat), along with 14 points and 8.4 rebounds. Not too shabby for a “project.”

Sanders may have been the biggest surprise of Summer League. He possesses combination of skill, athleticism, and length that not many can compete with. He also possesses a combination of tattoos that very few NBA players can compete with. If you take a look at Sanders Twitter icon image above you’ll quickly see what I mean. In fact, Sanders is so tatted up that he made DIME Magazine’s Third Team NBA All-Tattoo Team (although I think he should have made First Team).
