Sneak Peak at New Uniforms

It’s photoshoot day for men’s basketball, so managed to get a sneak peak this morning of the new uniforms to be worn for the 2012-2013 season. These new uniforms are similar to last year, but appear to have embroidered numbers and lettering. The A-10 logo appears above the name on the back of the jersey. We can now also confirm that Mo Alie-Cox will use Joey Rodriguez’ old number (#12), and Melvin Johnson will pick up #14 (contrary to speculation [...]

We took a trip over to Benedictine to watch 2012 recruit Jordan Burgess battle against 2012 recruit Mo Alie-Cox. Jordan took off in the 2nd half, topping his game off with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, while Mo settled with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks. Very exciting to see two future Rams battle it out in one of the oldest gyms in the state!

Shaka Smart looks to have added yet another piece to VCU’s promising future, after recently getting a verbal committment from 2012 recruit Mo Alie-Cox. The standout power foward from Middleburg Academy made a splash onto the national scene after a breakout performance this past January at the VirginiaPreps.com Basketball Classic, and averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds and a ridiculous 7 blocks per game this past season.
