It was homecoming on Broad St. tonight, and the Rams celebrated by winning their 9th straight in CAA play. VCU opened the game with a flurry of 3-point bombs that kept the Seahawks of UNCW at a comfortable distance all night, and headed home with a 79-70 victory and an impressive 18-5 record, 10-1 in CAA games. Shaka Smart unleashed his version of Havoc 2.0 on Ram fans and score keepers alike in last night’s home opening win against the Spartans of UNC Greensboro.  Joey Rodriguez lead the Rams in the 101-86 win, scoring 22 points to go along with a VCU single game record 17 assists.  Rodriguez was one of five Rams in double figures, three of which scored 20+ points on the night.  Check out the highlights below of VCU’s first win of the 2010-2011 [...]

After honoring late VCU Broadcaster, Terry Sisisky, the Rams got their first win of the season against the Spartans from UNC Greensboro, 101-86. A game that saw at least three Rams with 20 points or more. The Spartans, out of the Southern Conference, didn’t have much tape to watch of these young Rams.
