The Richmond Times Dispatch is reporting that VCU has added 6’7″ 225lb forward, Toby Veal, to it’s 2010 roster.
Veal, 11.5pts and 9rpg, will be a transplant from Junior College, Northwest Florida State College. Prior to Veal’s one year as a NWF St. Raider, the JC-sophomore spent his freshman campaign contributing to the Buffalo of the University of Colorado.
Citing being closer to home and family as his main intentions for leaving Colorado, Veal spent only one year out of Division 1 basketball.
This marks Coach Shaka Smart’s third commitment for the 2010-11 Rams squad. Veal will join fellow 2010 newcomers, Reco McCarter and Rob Brandenberg, North Carolina and Ohio, respectively.
