This past Saturday VCU broke a two game CAA losing streak in a home win against Delaware. Tuesday they will look to cure their road woes in a tough conference matchup at Hofstra (9-8, 2-3), aired on ESPNU.
The Pride are 6-2 in home contests but have lost 5 of their last 7 games, including a three game CAA losing streak.
The Rams have won their last two meetings in Hempstead, NY. A Victory tuesday would put the black and gold at an even .500 in conference.
Hofstra is lead by Jr. guard Charles Jenkins. Jenkins leads the CAA in scoring at 17.8 points per contest and was voted CAA Preseason Co-Player of the Year (with ODU’s Gerald Leigh).
VCU will benefit from the return of it’s leading scorer and rebounder, Larry Sanders, suspended 1 game by the CAA, as Hofstra leads the conference in rebounds at just over 40 a game.
