VCU draws Wichita State in annual ESPN BracketBusters event

The Rams annual BracketBusters fate has been decided by the gods at the Worldwide Leader.

ESPN announced the pairing of VCU and Missouri Valley contender, Wichita State Shockers (17-5, 9-2) in a 7PM tip, Friday Feb 18th on ESPN2.

After previous RPI “snubs” by the network, the black-and-gold will get a chance to play up in RPI, heading to Wichita Kansas to take on the 2nd place MVC team, currently 49th in the RPI rankings (VCU sits at 51st).

This will be the 6th straight televised game for VCU in the series.

The Rams have gone 3-2 in televised BracketBusters matchups, including a 17 point home win over Akron this past season.

George Mason was the last CAA team to travel to Wichita for a televised BB game, winning 70-67 and later defeating the Shockers in the Sweet 16.
