A balanced VCU attack put on quite a show in last night’s battle for conference supremacy as VCU rolled Hostra 82-67 in a nationally televised ESPNU contest.
The Rams got big time play out of their usual suspects, but it was a freshman’s high flying dunks that stole the show in front of the 7,200+ fans that made it down to Broad St for the thursday night tip.
Juvonte Reddic posted a career high 13 points on 6-10 shooting, including a Larry Sanders-like rim rocking ally-oop that senior guard Joey Rodriguez delivered from halfcourt.
Reddic displayed the flash and scoring ability that landed him on ESPN’s preseason players to watch list, connecting on several 18 foot jump shots and hammering down a set of dunks that brought the Ram faithful to their feet.
