Siegel Center adds some bling

The VCU Board of visitors approved $3 million in upgrades to the 12-year old Stuart C. Siegel Center.

The renovations will include the addition of an additional 200 seats connected to a swanky club venue which would replace the Founder’s Room.

Looks great............but I hope there is some thought of updating the "SMALL" video boards and adding a center court scoreboard with video.

I disapprove. VCU doesn't need a new basketball arena. We need better, more efficient classrooms in the Hibbs and Harris buildings. It feels like a jail cell in there. We don't have any form of sunlight coming into the classrooms, and the walls are such a piercing, ugly white that I get a headache after 20 minutes.

Kayla, I agree that Harris and Hibbs need upgrading and last semester I had a class in the basement in the library (talk about a cell like atmosphere). I'd like to see more outlets for laptops. By far Harris is the worst because it seems the walls are paper thin. But the Siegal Center needs upgrading too.
