VCU adds big man, Jared Guest to ’11-’12 roster

Shaka Smart added his fourth recruit to next year’s batch of freshman. This time opting for 6’8 big man Jarred Guest out Columbia, SC.

The long forward averaged 16.8 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game this past season en route to a 35-5 record and National Prep School Championship at Charis Prep.

Prior to hitting the prep school circuit, Guest averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds at Richland Northeast High.

He was recruited by the likes of Maryland, Clemson, Xavier, and Georgia to name a few.

Guest joins a 6’3 guards Briante Weber and Teddy Okereafor, as well as 6’4 small forward Treveon Graham in a very promising freshman class.
