If you’re still looking for reasons why Shaka will stay at VCU, Style Weekly just released some details indicating the Smart family has purchased a home in the Fan:
Maya Payne Smart, wife of Virginia Commonwealth University coach Shaka Smart, declines to say which house the family’s eyeing. One source says it’s a stately Georgian on Park Avenue, with six bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. It’s appraised at $791,000.
I remember when Shaka first took the job at VCU, we talked with Maya about how great the Fan would be for them. While I’m a big time Church Hill advocate (the best “borough” in Richmond), it’s great to see the Smarts settling in.
