VCU added CAAHoops.com blogger Michael Litos to their Ram Radio duo today.
The VCU grad replaces Mike Ellis who followed former AD Norwood Teague to Minnesota this past month.
Litos is the author of the book, “Cinderella: The Rise of Mid-Major College Basketball”, has co-hosted the CAA’s Court Report video series, and called numerous CAA tournament games for the league. A frequent guest of VCURamNation.com, the Richmond native has built a reputation as one of the most respected college basketball bloggers in the country, having his site linked fulltime on ESPN.com’s blog roll and other major media sites.
When asked for comment on his new position, Litos channeled his inner Nuke Laloosh (bonus points to the first person to name that movie) and said, “It feels out there. I mean, it’s a major rush. I mean, it feels radical in kind of a tubular sort of way, but most of all, it feels out there.”
He later added, “I’ll be honest. It’s humbling that I would even be considered. It took me about four seconds to accept, and that’s only because I was chewing food at the time. For me, personally, it’s the perfect union of three of my passions: VCU basketball, strategic analysis, and storytelling. I’m very eager to get going, so much so that Robby and Scott have already blocked me from sending them emails. But seriously, this is an incredible time for VCU athletics, and I’m fortunate to be a part of it all as Ed leads us to the next level. Calling this an exciting opportunity is a vast understatement.”
