Troy Daniels led the Rams with 27 points on a single-game VCU record nine made three pointers as the Rams once again used havoc to dominate an opponent, forcing a season-high 34 turnovers in tonight’s 96-67 win over Fairleigh Dickinson.
Juvonte Reddic added a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds in just 24 minutes of play. The junior big added a game high five steals to go along with two blocks on the night.
Birthday boy Briante Weber came off the bench for the first time in several games but led VCU with seven assists and added three steals in a night the Rams swiped 20 total.
The Rams move to 10-3 on the season, having won all seven games sense returning from the Bahamas.
VCU will hit the road for the first time since a December 7th win against ODU, this time taking on the Buccaneers of East Tennessee State (2-10) on Wednesday.
The Rams will return to the Siegel Center next Saturday to take on a Lehigh team (9-3) made famous this past March after — like VCU in 2007 — defeating the Duke Blue Devils in the first round of an NCAA tournament.
The Rams have just two games remaining in the non-conference schedule before tipping up their first season as a member of the Atlantic 10 conference.
