Thunder trade Maynor to Portland
Eric Maynor will now officially call the same venue VCU won their last NCAA tournament game, Rose Garden Arena, his home office, as the Oklahoma City Thunder traded the VCU legend to the Portland Trailblazers before the end of today’s NBA trade deadline.
Maynor dropped to third on the depth chart behind both Russell Westbrook and Reggie Jackson in OKC, and will now serve as the primary backup to Portland rookie star Damian Lillard.
Maynor averaged a career-low 10.6 minutes per game this season in OKC after returning from a knee injury that kept him out most of last season.
The forth-year veteran will serve as a backup to 2012 lottery pick Lillard, drafted with the 6th overall pick out of Weber State this past year. Lillard is averaging 18.4 points and 6.5 assists in 38.5 minutes with the Trailblazers this season.
Portland resides in the same Northwest Division as OKC, and are currently four games behind Houston for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
