Malik Beasley, a 6’4 shooting guard from Atlanta, GA, narrowed his list to eight schools today, a list that included your VCU Rams.
The 51st-ranked recruit according to ESPN took to Twitter to announce his list, choosing the Rams alongside a group of heavy hitters than include UConn, UCLA, Oregon, Florida State, Wake Forest, Saint John’s and Georgia.
ESPN describes Beasley as “a long athletic true shooting guard. He is an explosive finisher on the break. Scores with quick first step slashes and floaters in between defenders, mid range rhythm pull ups and high arcing threes off the catch when he comes off screens or spots up waiting shot ready for the kickout pass.”
The Georgia Stars AAU baller has had a busy summer, joining a number of VCU targets at this summer’s NBPA Top-100 Camp in Charlottesville as well as making appearances at both the Kevin Durant and Lebron James skills academies alongside VCU rising senior, Treveon Graham.
VCU offered the promising guard this past April and will hope to become one of the five schools Beasley takes an official visit to as his recruitment continues.
