VCU has made the final list of yet another elite 2015 recruit, this time in the form of the 65th overall rated prospect in the 2015 class, Tevin Mack, a 6’5 shooting guard from Columbia, SC.

The news hit Twitter Saturday night and was confirmed by Mack.

VCU makes Tevin’s final eight, a list that includes his home-state South Carolina Gamecocks, Georgia, Clemson, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech.

Mack has been a major priority for the VCU coaching staff, reportedly one of VCU’s top targets for the Rams as head coach Shaka Smart personally took in much of his summer success, including his dominant run to MOP honors at the appropriately titled AAU event, “Havoc on the Hardwood”.

Mack is a prolific scorer that would be expected to help fill the role of the departing Trevon Graham following this upcoming season. Graham returns for his senior season as the only returning conference player to make First-Team  All-Conference honors this past season.

He’s the third ESPN top-100 player so far to include VCU on his final list and would join a 2015-16 Rams team that would include at least six ESPN top-100 players including ESPN’s 43rd-ranked recruit from this past offseason, incoming freshman Terry Larrier. That number would already be a record for a VCU team that sent a squad to the Final 4 with just one top-100 (Jamie Skeen) in 2011, but could balloon to eight top-100s if VCU can repeat the success they had with their 2014 class, ranked 14th nationally with three incoming top-100: Larrier, Mike Gilmore (No.77) and Justin Tillman (No.97).

No word on when Mack will make his final decision just yet.
