The Peppas teamed up with CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander to cover the classic Weezer hit “Say It Ain’t So” prior to Saturday’s Atlantic 10 semifinal win over Davidson.

Like a lot of Ram fans, Norlander has a passion for both college hoops and music. He got a chance to combine the two when invited to play guitar with The Peppas Saturday afternoon in front of a Barclays Center crowd.

A graduate of Western Connecticut State, Norlander was a radio personality at campus station WXCI 91.7 before going on to work as a college hoops write for the likes of Yahoo Sports, Fox Sports and now CBS.

When he’s not busy covering college basketball championships — he’s doing double-duty this weekend, splitting time between both A-10 and Big East tourneys — he’s a contributing write for Relix Magazine, the second oldest music publication in the US.

After VCU’s 20-point win over top-seeded Davidson, he may just get roped in to covering the entire blue album in hopes that it will bring even more good mojo to the Rams during what could possibly turn into their first-ever Atlantic 10 tournament championship.
