Will Wade has secured one of the highest ranked recruits in VCU history with his first commitment for the 2016 roster. De’Riante Jenkins announced his commitment to VCU today, selecting the Rams over the likes of Virginia Tech, South Carolina and Clemson.
The 6’5 Hargrave product and South Carolina native brings a versatile skill set in the body of an athletic wing and adds another dangerous piece to Will Wade’s future VCU teams.
Ranked No.59 in the 2016 class by ESPN, Jenkins gives Will Wade his first top-100 recruit as a head coach and is the third highest ranked recruit to ever commit to VCU (1990’s McDonald’s Kendrick Warren being the highest, 2014 recruit and recent transfer, Terry Larrier, checking in at No.2).
The signing is the first of Wade’s 2016 class, a class with two available spots due to the future graduations of seniors Melvin Johnson and Korey Billbury.
