VCU was looking for a confidence boosting game and they got it Sunday evening as the Stu as they handled Liberty University, 85-57.
The team out of the Big South Conference never stood a chance from the opening tip off until the very final buzzer. VCU dominated in a huge way.
VCU limited Liberty to just 16 points in the first half. Liberty shot just 36% from the free throw line, hitting 4 of 11. VCU managed to end at 73% from the line, going 11-15.
Senior Melvin Johnson would lead all Rams in scoring with 15 points. The Rams extinguished the Flames on the glass as VCU would grab 37 boards to Liberty’s 23.
Junior Ahmed Hamdy Mohamed chipped in 8 points, grabbed 9 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal in his 18 minutes.
VCU moves to 7-5 on the season and will host North Florida On Wednesday, December 30th at 7pm.
