Video: VCU falls short to Cincinatti [INSIDER]

After an extended hiatus, the Siegel Center saw some action Saturday afternoon as VCU hosted #20 Cincinatti into Richmond. VCU would hope to knock off the nationally ranked team to salvage their out of conference schedule this season. Ram nation would see a big night from senior Korey Billbury but it wouldn’t be enough to get the win as VCU would lose 69-63.

Billbury would also grab 9 rebounds in his effort. VCU also got 10 points and 9 points from Junior Mo Alie-Cox and Sophomore Michael Gilmore, respectively.

The Bearcats would have an answer for VCU’s leading scorer, senior Melvin Johnson and would keep him from hitting any field goals. He would score two points from the line.

Cincinatti would hit 30 of their 35 free throws that would ice the game in the end.

VCU will host Buffalo on Tuesday, December 22 at 7pm.
