Tillman shines as VCU routs Fordham

VCU extended their win-streak to seven games tonight, routing Fordham 88-54.

The Rams went took a 47-19 lead into the half and never looked back thanks to a complete night on both sides of the ball while getting a career-high 27 points from sophomore Justin Tillman.

Tillman finished with the games only double-double, adding a game-high 10 rebounds in the win.

VCU leading scorer Melvin Johnson chipped in 15 points in his 27 minutes of play with Korey Billbury rounding out VCU’s group of double-digit scorers with 10 points himself.

The Rams shot a red-hot 61% from the floor while limiting Fordham to just 39% shooting on the game, locking down on Jeff Neubauer’s squad to 24% from the field in the first before going a bit deeper down the bench in the second.

The Rams once again wreaked some old-fashioned VCU havoc, forcing 18 Fordham turnovers on the evening to just 10 from the black and gold.

The win moves Will Wade and Co. to 12–5 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in conference play heading into a Saturday rivalry matchup at Richmond.
