Video: VCU pep band “The Peppas” covers M.O.P.’s “Ante Up”

The VCU Athletics pep band, better known as The Peppas, has become arguably the most well-known pep band in all of college basketball. They’ve made appearances on NBCs Today Show, have been written about by People Magazine, have been “borrowed” by both college teams (Mt. Saint Mary’s) and NBA (Brooklyn Nets) teams and have even seen their songs and renditions of other songs covered by both college (Wichita State) and high school bands. ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt has sung their praises and blasted their CDs on the airwaves and under the leadership of long-time band leader Ryan Kapocsi it appears as though they won’t slow down anytime soon.

So with that, you know I had to shoot over a recommendation to the Peppas, a challenge they quickly accepted.

Here is the result, which is hopefully a song Ram fans can get to know in due time (if you don’t know it already).
