Video: Rams run wild on the ‘cats; beat Davidson 74-60 [INSIDER]

After two of the most stunning and improbable victories in maybe all of basketball, VCU returned to the Siegel Center to host Davidson. In the previous meeting between the two, VCU took a loss on the road back on January 14th. It took about 30 minutes for the Rams to pull away in the 74-60 win.

Senior JeQuan Lewis led Rams in scoring with 27 points on the night. Only two other Rams would score int he double digits. Senior Mo Alie-Cox chipped in 10 while junior Justin Tillman scored 13.

Of course, the hot hand for the Davidson Wildcats was senior Jack Gibbs who matched Lewis’s 27. He would be the lone Wildcat to see double digits.

The Rams out rebounded Davidson 44 to 36 and shot 70%(6-16) from behind the arc compared to Davidson’s 48%(6-21).

Davidson shot a poor 10-21 from the free throw line. The Rams shot 16-23 from the line.

The win moves VCU to 20-5 (10-2) on the season. This marks the 11th season in a row that VCU has reached the 20 win mark. VCU will host Saint Joseph’s on Tuesday, February 14th at 6pm. The game will broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.

6-16 is not 70%. If we shot 70% from 3, VRN would probably have a meltdown. Likewise, 6-21 is not 48%.
