Armando Bacot, a top-25 5-star national recruit for the 2019 class and a Richmond native, has trimmed his potential schools list to 10, a list that includes VCU.
Bacot’s other final 10 consists of Kansas, Duke, UNC, Virginia Tech, UVA, Villanova, UCLA, Oklahoma State and Georgetown.
The 6’9 235-pound monster has burst onto the national scene at local Trinity High School and during summers with his AAU club, Team Loaded, earning his way into ESPN top-25 and a composite ranking of 16th nationally according to 247Sports.com. He capped his sophomore season off with a 36-point, 14-rebound double-double in this past season’s prep league championship then carried that momentum into a successful summer with Team Loaded VA, winning the 17U Adidas Uprising Championship.
Bacot has taken visits from a who’s who of nationally elite coaches and the Rams could have an uphill battle in securing the big man’s services for what could be a one-and-done year wherever he ultimately chooses to play.
