Video: VCU gets back on track; defeats Appalachian State, 85-72 [INSIDER]

The Rams returned to the Siegel Center Tuesday evening after spending Thanksgiving in Hawaii as part of the Maui Invitational. After returning with a couple losses, Ram Nation was eager to see a strong performance by the young team. VCU hosted and bested Appalachian State, 85-72.

Senior Justin Tillman led all scorers with 21 points while fellow senior Johnny Williams chipped in 18 points along with 7 assists and 4 rebounds.

Senior Khris Lane chipped in 17 points while Sophomore De’Riante Jenkins contributed 13 points in a versatile game that saw him knock down all 3 of his three pointers and a few dunks in the win.

The battle on the glass was won by App state though, they fought hard and grabbed 11 more rebounds than VCU, 42 – 31.

VCU moves to 4-3 on the year and will host Old Dominion University on Saturday, December 2nd at 7pm.
