Video: VCU survives against North Florida behind Tillman’s 27 [INSIDER]

After winning the home opener on Saturday, VCU welcomed back the Ospreys from North Florida for the second time in three seasons. The 95-85 win would mark the teams 2nd win in the series matchup and 2nd over all on the season.

Tonight belonged to senior Justin Tillman. The Detroit native went 5 for 5 in the first 4 minutes and didn’t miss a shot until the second half. He scored 10 of the teams’ first 12 points and went 9 for 9 in 9 minutes in the first half.

Senior Khris Lane also chipped 17 points in the hard fought win. Despite seeing 4 Rams score in double digits, no VCU player grabbed more than 9 rebounds.

North Florida beat VCU on the glass, 44-42 and outshot the Rams from behind the arc, 43%-31%. The Ospreys took 24 more three pointers than the Rams, 40-16.

VCU’s next game is on Friday, November 17th at 4pm as the Rams will host the Virginia Cavaliers.
