Justin Tillman named A-10 co-player of the week

A big week by Justin Tillman has netted him a spot as the A10 co-player of the week.

The senior big-man led the Rams through a pair of tough non-conference games against Appalachian State and Old Dominion.

Per the official release:

Tillman averaged 24.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and shot .727 (16-of-22) from the field in VCU victories over Appalachian State and Old Dominion. The 6-foot-8 forward also buried 6-of-7 attempts from 3-point range.

On Saturday, Tillman poured in a career-high 28 points, including 21 in the first half alone, of the Rams’ 82-75 triumph over Old Dominion. It was VCU’s third straight win over the rival Monarchs. He also provided 21 points and six rebounds on Nov. 28 against Appalachian State.

For the season, Tillman is averaging a team-high 15.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

Tillman and the Rams will return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 5 when they welcome Texas at the E.J. Wade Arena at the Siegel Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
