Pirates offense too much as Rams fall, 90-67

The offense of #19 Seton Hall was just too much for VCU as the Rams (5-5) fell, 90-67. The afternoon game was part of the Never Forget Tribute Classic being played in New Jersey.

Justin Tillman led the Rams in both points (20) and rebounds (8). 14 of his 20 points came in the second half of action. His 20 points were also a game-high for either team.

Marcus Santos-Silva was the only other Ram to score in double figures with 10 points. This marked a new career-high for the freshman big man. He also added 7 rebounds and 2 blocks to the boxscore.

Turnovers would plague the Rams in the first half as they coughed the ball up 11 times. That number was trimmed down to only 3 turnovers in the second half, but the Pirates would tally 14 points-off-turnovers for the contest.

Desi Rodriguez led Seton Hall in points with 17, but four other Pirates would join him in double-digits.

Angel Delgado’s 14 points and 13 rebounds were a large part of the 52 points Seton Hall scored in the paint—VCU, by contrast, had 30 points in the paint.

Jonathan Williams would dish out 6 assist to go along with his 5 points for the Rams—who are reeling from injury at the guard position.

Issac Vann and Malik Crowfield are still both missing from the Rams in-game lineup.

The Rams will return home to host the Bison of Bucknell University on Saturday, December 16th. That game is set to tip-off at 6pm EST.
