Video: VCU fails to bounce back; lose to Richmond 67-52 [INSIDER]

After one of the worst losses in recent history in Dayton on Friday, VCU looked to bounce back on Wednesday night as they hosted cross town rival, University of Richmond. Richmond, not off to a hot start either, came to the Siegel Center looking to make a statement and they did in the 67-52 win over the Rams.

Senior Justin Tillman and Sophomore Mike’l Simms led the Rams in scoring, both with 12 each. Tillman’s 7 consecutive double double streak comes to an end as the Detroit native only grabbed 9 rebounds.

The Spiders outscored VCU in the paint 42-30 and out rebounded the Rams 38-28.

The loss moves VCU to 11-6 (3-3) on the season. VCU will host George Washington University on Saturday, January 20th at 12:30pm.
