Issac Vann undergoing ankle surgery

Issac Vann is undergoing surgery today to correct an ankle injury which caused issues throughout the sophomore’s season. He first injured his ankle (high ankle sprain) against Marquette in the Maui Invitational tournament on November 20th. He checked in 5 games later against Texas, but played just 3 minutes before exiting the game. Vann sat a total of 8 games this season due to injury, missing a majority of the team’s out-of-conference schedule.

Though he averaged and uncharacteristically low 26% from behind the arc, Vann played a significant role for the Rams this season, averaging 9.8 points per game (3rd highest on team). He also started the majority of games, averaging the 4th most minutes on the roster.

Vann is expected to be out six to eight weeks for recovery.
