There is no better time for a flashback to VCU’s Final Four appearance in 2011. Jamie Skeen lead VCU with 27 points that night, but the Bulldog defense was just too much for the Rams usual potent 3-point attack, and VCU struggled to find open shots around the perimeter. Thousands of fans made the trip to Houston to root on the black-and-gold in one of the NCAA tournament’s most improbable 5-game runs. The Butler Bulldogs got the win, but VCU made their mark on the national stage, and became only the third team seeded 11 or lower to advance to the round of four, the first and only team ever to win 5 games to advance to the Final Four.
