Highly recommended: VCU baseball games

Hoop fans, March is over and with that I’m here to recommend a greatly underrated experience in Richmond, VA: VCU baseball games.

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t get to as many as I’d like to, but as the weather warms up I’m going to make it a priority to change that and I invite you to join me. It’s VCU, hot dogs, Cracker Jacks and beer. As far as I know the only VCU rooting experience that allows you to cheer on the Rams with an adult beverage from your seats, which is something I find rather relaxing and combined with some warm weather and friends makes for a very pleasant VCU sports experience.

On top of that, tickets go for just $7 for adults, $4 for kids and $3 for group tickets, a steal compared to VCU basketball games that in some cases are 10 times that amount.

The Rams are off to a 4-2 start in A-10 play and boast an 18-10 overall record through the colder months of the season and have plenty of room on the bandwagon for you and I to jump in at this point.

Head Coach Shawn Stiffler’s Rams were the A-10 regular season champs this past year, finished second the season before that and won the 2015 A-10 title before eventually advanced to an NCAA Super Regional. Moral of the story? This group competes for titles and more often than not can take you on a really fun ride through their season.

“But Mat, 18-10? Their season has to be close to ending, no?”

Au contraire! There is about two fulls months left of action at the Diamond, followed by what I hope will be another NCAA tournament run.

Good promo, Matt. VCU fans that don't give the baseball team a try are missing out on a good experience, in my opinion!
We cheer on any VCU team. Seeing the Rams beat UVa 11-3 last week was a great time!
I'll roll up with you!
