Daniel Roose replacing Don Brown in return to VCU

Daniel Roose is leaving Shaka Smart’s staff at Texas to return to VCU as the Rams strength and conditioning coach. Roose will replace Don Brown, who has decided to leave the industry to pursue opportunities in the private sector.

Roose spent 6 years at VCU under Shaka Smart, and followed the former head coach to University of Texas where he had remained for the past 4 years. While at Texas, Roose was awarded the title Master of Strength and Conditioning coach this past April by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.

Once the news was broken by a Texas beat reporter, Roose confirmed the reports by posting the following on his Twitter account:

According to the Austin American-Statesman, Roose has committed to staying at Texas through the completion of their summer conditioning program, though some sources at VCU indicate he could arrive to Richmond as early as August 11th.
