VCU guard De’Riante Jenkins enters his senior season averaging 11.3 points, and 3.9 rebounds per game. He led the team last season with 66 three pointers, and scored double-digits in 20 games. He is a critical factor in the success of this year’s senior-laden team, which could have one of the best seasons at VCU in years.

This is an absolutely fantastic interview. Very revealing. Deri has such a mature perspective on his time here and his relationship with the staff. And what he says about the newcomers is tantalizing!

To me it was awesome in many ways. De'Riante has grown up and he is now a fantastic interview. He is honest and forthright with his answers. He was spectacular in that sit down. Mat did a great job with short concise questions allowing Deri to feel comfortable and elaborate. I loved the silence other than Jenkins talking. You could hear a pin drop and then they brought music in. Also, loved the multiple angles. Crisp, clean and mean. Great work. Again, I am totally impressed by De'Riante. Great young man right there.

Thanks Steve! Asking questions is the easy part, Michael is genius behind the camera.

Was it you asking the questions? Actually it is important to do it the way it was done here. Short and concise. Let them answer and feel comfortable. Sometimes interviewers can over talk. I have really had to work on that part when I interview people. Ha!

Yep sure was, and agreed. Have learned to never ask a yes/no question. Been really trying to figure out how to do Terry Gross type of questions, get to the root as much as possible.
