Rams back in national ranks at No.19 in Coaches Poll, No.21 in AP Poll

After a week outside of the national rankings, the black and gold have climbed back in thanks to their perfect 4-0 start that includes last week’s big win over then-No.23 AP ranked, LSU, coached by former VCU head coach, Will Wade.

VCU lands at No.21 in this week’s AP Poll, No.19 in this week’s Coaches Poll, VCU’s first appearance in that poll this season. VCU’s AP ranking is just a spot ahead of another former head coach as well: Shaka Smart and his now 22nd-ranked Texas Longhorns who enter the Coaches Poll at No.22 as well.

The Rams began the season ranked 25th in he AP, but briefly fell from the rankings due to a close contest against the Mean Green at North Texas the Rams survived, 59-56.

The black and gold survived Wade’s LSU Tigers after looking dominant in the first half, then followed that up with a Sunday routing of outmatched Jacksonville State.

The Rams play just one game this week, a 7PM Saturday tip against the Eagles of Florida Gulf Coast University.
