That pace would set the tone for the Rams all afternoon as they raced out to 25 fast break points on the heels of 11 steals.
Jacksonville State struggled with holding on to the ball as the committed 21 turnovers leading to 24 points for VCU.
Mike’l Simms led VCU with 13 points on 3-5 shooting from range.
Four other Rams would join Williams and Simms in the double digit scoring column: Bones Hyland (12), Issac Vann (11), Marcus Santos-Silva (10), and Marcus Evans (10).
Freshman Bones Hyland also added 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 0 turnovers in his 22 minutes of play today.
Marcus Evans and De’Riante Jenkins also dropped 4 assists each as the Rams combined for 23 assists as a team.
VCU finished the game shooting 58% (38-66) from the floor, while going 42% on 11 made three’s from range.
